Are you interested in learning more about working for City government? Or just ready to get out of the house? We have several seasonal maintenance positions open and would love to have you join our team! These positions are seasonal, up to 40 hours per week, and up to 5 1/2 months in duration. Some positions start immediately, however hiring may continue through the summer months, depending upon the needs of each division. Many of these positions are Monday - Friday and some offer a 9/80 flex schedule. This varies by department. To apply, you must submit an application through governmentjobs.com using this link: Primary Duties VEGETATION/STORM/SEWER DIVISION: Duties may include weed eating, working with full-time staff performing maintenance duties on retention ponds, City facilities and cleaning catch basins. WATER DIVISION: Duties may include hydrant maintenance, valve inspection, records maintenance and filing, and facility maintenance and upkeep tasks. STREET DIVISION: Duties may include asphalt patching, crack sealing, traffic control and assisting full-time staff with street, sign, and light maintenance. PARKS, CEMETERY, AND GOLF COURSE DIVISIONS: Duties may include mowing and weeding; collecting litter; maintaining facilities; and preparing athletic fields. AIRPORT: Duties may include mowing, maintaining facilities and assisting other maintenance staff. Employees will perform other related work as required. Minimum Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older, possess a valid Washington State Driver's License, and have the ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds. SHOE REQUIREMENT: Steel-toed shoes required on first day of employment- furnished by the employee. If selected, a current abstract of your driving record is required at the time of interview. You can obtain your driving record through the Department of Licensing or online at www.dol.wa.gov. Background and reference checks are also required for final candidates.
