Description
At Colorado Fasteners, the outstanding Shipping and Receiving Coordinator demonstrates great communication and organizational skills as they coordinate activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and prepare items for shipment. Major Responsibilities: *Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. *Study shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. *Determine routing and legal load limits of trucks. *Inspect material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair. *Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications. *Maintain vehicle maintenance report. *Develop work assignments and schedules, and maintain time and production records. *Analyze stock control records and information such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, and current market conditions, to determine stock supply. *Perform cycle counts of inventory comparing actual counts to computer stock status. *May be responsible for researching sales and purchasing history in order to resolve discrepancies. *Compare nomenclature, stock numbers, authorized substitutes, and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, and building materials lists to verify accuracy of requisitions and shipping orders. *Coordinate SKU’s with vendor representatives to facilitate buying, receiving, and identification of products. *Prepare list of depleted items and recommend survey of defective or unusable items. *May be actively involved in recruiting, hiring, associate orientation, training, and disciplining associates. *May be actively involved with the budget and review process. *Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement. *Identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers. *Participate as a team player in all phases of the organization. *Open and responsive to change. *Personally provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times. *Comply with all Company policies and procedures. *Adhere to the Company’s safety standards and enforce safety regulations. *Other duties as assigned. Required Skills: *Minimum Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). *Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. *Ability to write simple correspondence. *Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization. *Exceptional Excel skills (mathematical-related tasks). *Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. *Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. *Forklift certification and/or license may be required. *Knowledge of products and operation. Minimum Education: *At least 1 year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. *Must have supervisory experience and knowledge of the industry.
