Help clean up some desert and learn bushcraft at the same time!
In this relaxed hybrid trip, we will spend half our time cleaning up and restoring an area of west desert public land, and the other half learning bushcraft camping skills.
The trip is suitable for beginners, the cleanup and skills will be low to moderately paced.
Skills learned will depend on the group's interest but will likely include camp hygiene, basic knots, introductory knife skills, trail etiquette, responsible fire building, and some naturalist skills such as mammal tracking and local geology.
Participants will be required to have basic camping gear and enough water for 3 days, but the site can be driven to in 4WD/AWD (high clearance not needed) so you can car camp if you wish, although I encourage cowboy camping. Upon registration a suggested gear list will be sent, and registrants will be invited to my school's slack space for in depth discussion.
As a special thank you for helping me clean up the areas I love, all participants who complete the trip will be given a code entitling them to a 25% discount on all my future classes, for life!
