Ideally a hardy one thats accustomed to the outdoors (they'd also be encouraged to come indoors at their leisure of course) because I live out in the boonies. Can't be too careful. I have permanent housing/reliable employment, and am extremely good with cats. I can honestly say its one of the best possible homes for your cat. If its a cat you'll miss dearly I'd be happy to invite you over to visit with them every now and again, or whatever suits you. Short-hairs are very much preferred. gender unimportant
