Press release from the Newton South High School PTSO: February 5, 2021 Newton South Girls Varsity Basketball Maintains #1 position in the Dual County League Division N.S. Girls Varsity Basketball maintained its first-place ranking tonight in its home game win against Acton-Boxborough. The win brings the Girls team to a 7-1 record, solidifying their leading position in the Dual County League and a perfect record in the DCL "Large" class school division. Tonight's win is their 7th in a row. Although the team was missing starting players like Maddy Genser and Lilly Altman due to injuries, the team pulled off a 58 to 37 win against the 2nd place division team. The girls head into a rematch this Friday at Acton-Boxborough, finishing their regular season before the DCL playoffs begin on Tuesday, February 16.
