Civic Engagement Alliance is hosting a one-day volunteer effort to get 500 vote reminder postcards written to CDA community members. Get Informed. Get Involved. Vote in the March 9th Levy Election to support our local schools! Civic Engagement Alliance is hosting a one-day volunteer effort to get 500 vote reminder postcards written to Coeur d’Alene community members to boost voter turnout for the CDA SD 271 Levy Election. Volunteers can pledge to write 10, 20, or 30 postcards at the party to help us meet this challenge! The Postcard Party will be OUTDOORS at the McEuen Park Picnic Shelter. Dress for winter weather! Volunteers are welcome to arrive ANYTIME between 12 PM – 3 PM. PLEASE REGISTER and feel free to bring a friend or your kids to volunteer! Other groups supporting public schools are welcome. All postcard materials including cards, pens, markers, addresses, scripting, and postage will be provided. Hot coffee, tea, and some prepackaged snacks will be provided. Our goal is to raise awareness of the Levy election and provide voting option information: • Vote by mail (DD to request an absentee ballot at idahovotes.gov is 2/26) • Early Voting: 2/22 – 3/5, Mon – Fri 8 AM – 5 PM at the Kootenai County Elections Office. • Election Day Voting: Tuesday, March 9th, polls open 8 AM – 8 PM. In March 2019, only 12.33% or just under 10,000 voters turned out in Kootenai County for ALL our county schools. Let’s boost local turnout by encouraging community members to have a voice! The 2021 CDA School District levy renews our local existing levy, which makes up 25% of total funding for our local schools. This 2-year levy funds educational services not paid for by the state. Voting YES on March 9 supports ESSENTIAL programs and services for our children. Learn more about the CDA Levy at https://www.cdaschools.org/levy. This party is being organized to accommodate COVID Stage 3 requirements: Up to 50 volunteers can register for the event. Arrival time will naturally be staggered. There are many picnic tables available and ample room for social distancing. Masking per outdoor standards (wear if within 6 feet of others, otherwise, not required). Masks, Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer will be available.
