Description

Build a beautiful gown inspired by the work of Ann Cole Lowe. Join us in the studio for an evening of couture, gown fashion, inspired by the life and work of Fashion Designer Ann Cole Lowe, whose elegant, iconic designs have been worn by celebrities and dignitaries from around the world. We will learn about Anns beginnings as the daughter of a seamstress, her love of creating, her journey as a designer, and her fashion relationship with First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, which set a trend for contemporary fashion. Each Fashion Designer will create a beautiful, buil-out sketch of their own design, using an 11x17 croqui sheet, mounted on black framing stock, colored pencils, gel pens, fabrics of satin, silk, organza (and more), as well as ribbons, trims, tulle, sequins, beads, gem stones, and other findings, to create a 3-dimensional sketch that tells their story of elegant, custom couture. Fashion Design books and magazines will also be available for inspiration. The fee for this event is $10 per Fashion Designer, and is perfect for Fashion Designers age 8-16 years. ALL supplies and instruction is included. ALL Fashion Designers MUST wear a mask in the studio, and may bring a water bottle to drink. Every Fashion Designer will go home with a mounted, 3-Dimensional sketch, a custom designed Fashion Cookie, and information on our Spring Fashion Program. ArtReach follows all COVID-19 guidelines as set forth by the State of Massachusetts. Space for this event is limited for social distancing.
