Description
SIMPLY SMILES is building the second foster home! Click to watch a video of the build on our website. See full video of the construction process here. Despite the immense challenges of a global pandemic and the temperamental weather of the Great Plains (it's -3ºF today!), we're currently building the second foster home in the Simply Smiles Children's Village on the Cheyenne River Reservation! We previously shared images of the foundation for this second home at the Reservation Children's Village property. Over the last few months, we have been working behind the scenes with Minnesota-based Dynamic Homes (owned by Ho-Chunk, Inc., the award-winning economic development corporation of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska) to design, build, and deliver this modular home system. As we build more homes in our Village, this construction method allows us to quickly and efficiently build homes without any sacrifice of construction quality. As a result, we can now more easily expand our ability to protect and provide for the children most at-risk in Indian Country. Because of our persistence, perseverance, and the incredible generosity of the Simply Smiles community, we are building the second foster home. Thank you! Stay tuned for more updates as we complete this new home!
