Guided Mushroom Walk Learn how to look for mushrooms, mushroom seasons in Monterey, types of mushrooms that grow in our area, identification tips, propagating, how to pick and clean mushrooms, cooking tips for edible mushrooms. We'll meet at Julia's Vegetarian Restaurant at 7:50am to check in. From there, attendees will follow the Julia's van to a nearby spot to park where our owner and expert mushroom forager, Anthony Gerbino, will lead the group on a guided mushroom walk. The walk will be about 2 hours. We encourage you to come back to the restaurant afterwards and order brunch, reservations strongly recommended (they can be made on Yelp). We will have free live music in our garden from 12:30pm - 7pm that day. Have questions about mushroom hunting? Ask away! We love all things mushrooms, so please bring any questions you have and feel free to ask Anthony during our walk. We look forward to exploring the world of mushrooms with you! Please note, the group will be looking for common mushrooms and edibles, class is led by an experienced mushroom forager (not a mycologist).
