Freedom Ring Battle of the Bands is a music contest in which bands compete for fo the title Best Band of 2021 1st Annual Freedom Ring Battle of the Bands presented by Freedom Team Inc. June 26, 2021, at Post 224 Amvets 750 5th Ave, Chambersburg, PA 17201 • Doors will open at 11 A.M Saturday, June 26th at Post 224 Amvets Pavilion 750 5th Ave, Chambersburg, PA • Bands will start at noon, play a 15-minute set, with a 15-minute break between each set. • The band that receives the most votes will win the Battle! • There is a $10 cover charge per band guest per person. For additional questions please contact the freedom team at [email protected] Battle of the Band Rules & Registration Information Read and understand the rules BEFORE registering your band. Band registration is now open. ATTENTION BANDS!!! Band registration is first come first served and limited to the first 25 bands that signup. After all, slots have been filled, a waiting list will be created. Before pre-registering your band: Please read all of the rules and confirm eligibility for your band here Ensure at least two members can be present at the Registration Party on June 26th at Pavilion. Your registration fee of $50 non-refundable must be paid by April 26th. If you cancel after April 26th, no fees will be refunded. • Bands must have 3 or more members to compete. • NO Lip-syncing or tracking vocals. • Bands must complete the registration form and submit the required video or audio by the due date to be considered for the competition. Video/Audio must include at least 2 songs. • Completed registration forms and videos/audio must be submitted by April 26th, 2021 at 5:00 pm. Participants will be notified if they have been chosen to participate by May 3rd, 2021 at 5:00 pm. • Bands are 18 years and older. • All bands must bring their instruments no exceptions. • Microphones and speakers will be provided. • The band must be set up with a soundcheck within 10 minutes of a time slot. • The band must tear down and exit the stage in 10 minutes or less upon completion of the set. • Bands will each have 15 minutes of performance time. • Any inappropriate language, inappropriate or controversial topics, and or distasteful behavior will result in immediate disqualification from the competition. All songs must be appropriate for a family-oriented environment. • Amvets Post 224 is not liable for an accident, equipment disappearance, or damage. JUDGING Contestants will be judged on a 60 point system: CRITERIA: • Technical Performance, Max Points: 10 • How well the band members use their instruments Audience Reaction, Max Points: 10 • Audience applause, yelling, screaming, and/or dancing Vocals, Max Points: 10 • Singer’s voice compliments the music and voice quality Originality of Songs, Max Points: 10 • Song construction, expressions, and blend of vocals and music Stage Presence, Max Points: 10 • Interaction with the crowd, the band is having fun and are fun to watch Professionalism, Max Points: 10 • Dress and act appropriately, show respect for the audience DEDUCTIONS: • Set Time, Max Points: -10 • The band did not meet the 30-minute time limit • Late Arrival Time, Max Points: -10 • Inefficient set-up time between sets, Max Points: -10 • The band took more than 10 minutes to set-up Bands are responsible for any Battle of the Bands equipment damaged or lost during their set-up, set, or tear-down. MERCHANDISE: Bands may sell band merchandise (CDs, T-shirts, and posters) in an area that will be set up 15 minutes before showtime and will close 15 minutes after showtime. The merchandise booth will be shared with all bands that choose to take advantage of this opportunity. Only band merchandise can be sold at the booth. STAGE the Post 224 Amvets Pavilion Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Battle of the Bands 2021 Who Can Apply? Individuals or groups whose members are 18 years or older. How Do I Apply or Register? Through our website. Each BAND must submit an Application/Registration Form. Each MEMBER Must submit a Participation Waiver. A $50 Application Fee is submitted for the BAND. Audio or Video submission completes your registration. Where Do I Pay the Application Fee? Application Fees can be paid through our website on our Battle of The Bands page. It is set up as a donation to Freedom Team. How Do We Submit our Audio? By emailing [email protected] a link to your video (YouTube), or audio recording (Sound Cloud, YouTube, etc.). Submissions should be 8 minutes or less. What is the Application Deadline? April 26th, 2021 by 11:59 PM. This includes all paperwork, fees, and video/audio submissions. Does Each Band Member Pay the $50 Application Fee? No. Only pay $50 per band. What If We Can’t Attend on June 26th? Then you are not eligible to apply. This is a LIVE competition. Do My Family, Friends, & Co-Workers Need to Pay to Come to See Me Play in the Battle of The Bands? Yes. Family and friends will need to purchase a ticket for our concert. Who Judges the Battle on June 26th? Music Industry Professionals from. We won’t know who the judges are until closer to June. When the bands are Announce?
