Older gentleman cat needs loving forever home

This is boots! He is about 10 years old and is in need of a forever home. He was rescued from a home that was overrun with cats when he was about 1-2 years old and has been with us for about 8 years. Unfortunately we have found that our 2 year old and newborn are allergic to cats and it has put us in a situation where we can no longer care for him while also keeping our children healthy which is very important these days especially during a time where a respiratory pandemic is running ramped. He is loving, has been good with our kids and other animals. He has been protective of both babies, but is not too fond of toddlers just because they like to pull on him so probably best to go to a home with older kids or younger kids that know how to be gentle. We did foster a younger cat a few years ago and he was very loving and protective of that cat. I think he would like a home that has other young cats that he can be an adult figure for as he enjoyed grooming and cuddling with the younger one. He has grown up with dogs but they have all been very chill relaxed dogs. Not sure how he would do with active dogs. He has been neutered and received shots from APA when we first got him and another round of boosters about 3-4 years ago (Sorry not familiar with how often cats need shots). He has been an indoor cat the full time we have had him. He still has claws but will not do well as an outdoor cat. If you are interested in adding boots to your family, please send me a message. He will come with a collar,(tag will need to be changed) food bowls, food, liter and liter box if you want it.
