JOB DESCRIPTION: Full time (24- 40hrs/ week) Work hours 8:00/9:00am- 4:00/5:00pm according to season Seasonal position: (February -December) Pay depends on experience Lightning Bug Landscapes is a small garden company based in Asheville. We are looking for crew members who share our passion for plants. The person in this position will work closely with other crew members or independently to perform regular landscape maintenance of private residences in and around Asheville. We are seeking experienced gardeners who enjoy being creative, have a thorough knowledge of gardening techniques, are well-versed in plant identification and will welcome physical, outdoor work. This position starts as a 1099 with the opportunity to for advancement over time. We speak English and Spanish. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES include but are not limited to: -Regular garden maintenance (weeding, pruning, removing brush, mulching, planting, watering, edging, blowing, occasional mowing) -Garden installation (digging, soil amending, simple hardscaping) -Occasionally applies fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides or other horticultural products under the direction of a licensed pesticide applicator -Performs essential customer service duties & communicates with clients about scheduling & garden plans -Participates in workday prep & clean-up activities (propagating plants, maintaining tools & vehicles) -Follows direction of crew leaders & adheres to company standards to provide the best quality service to clients JOB REQUIREMENTS; Candidate must be able to: -Lift 50 lbs on a regular basis -Perform physical work for extended periods of time (including kneeling, stooping, bending, reaching, carrying weight, navigating uneven terrain) -Work outdoors in all types of weather with fluctuations in temperature & conditions -Must have outstanding customer service skills -Follow directions & work as part of a team or independently with little supervision -Must be reliable, detail oriented & behave professionally -Must have a valid driver’s license & be at least 18 years of age -Must comply with COVID-19 safety guidelines -Candidates with a clean driving record & their own transportation are strongly preferred -Previous experience with plant care/ garden maintenance or installation strongly preferred -Related horticultural education or training is a plus TO APPLY: please submit resume and three references to the email provided   Position open until filled
