This talk will discuss differences between traditional, in-person evaluation and treatment and telepractice to ensure access to quality care Join us to hear Dr. Cara Stepp, Ph.D., as she discusses “Voice Tele-Practice in 2021: Acoustics, Auditory Perception, and Speaker Vocal Effort.” This talk reviewed Dr. Stepp's recent research to better understand the impacts of tele-communication on voice, in terms of acoustic measures, auditory-perceptual ratings, and speaker perceptions of vocal effort. State-of-the-art metrics for clinical voice evaluation will be reviewed and recent findings about the fidelity of acoustic and auditory-perceptual measures of voice via tele-practice will be discussed.
