Black American Economic Empowerment + opportunity for the black community. For decades, a wealth gap has persisted between blacks and whites. The racial wealth gap has grown in recent years, with white Americans having 12 times the wealth of black Americans. While a quick fix to trim the gap remains absent, a new report suggests black entrepreneurship perhaps is the answer. Black-owned small businesses are struggling due to COVID-19’s ever-changing restrictions. Society for Africans in the Diaspora is proud to support small businesses in the Houston area. This 2021 Black History Month, we encourage everyone to #buyblack and support your Diaspora neighborhood, African American-owned small businesses. Local businesses employ local people, and local businesses also do business with other local businesses, keeping more of the dollars spent in the community, you are also investing in Black communities! Shop Diaspora Weekend was created by Society for Africans in the Diaspora to support these integral small businesses. We are working with local vendors to develop a safe socially distanced marketplace at SAiD Pan African Library for the community to support Houston's heart and soul. EXHIBITOR AGREEMENT : Service: SAiD agrees to provide to the exhibitor signed below ("Exhibitor") space at the Shop Diaspora Weekend according to the terms and conditions listed below and for the hours determined by SAiD. Unless otherwise. Fees and Cancellation Policy: Exhibitor shall pay the total fees set forth below to SAiD. All amounts due under this agreement are unconditional obligations of Exhibitor and shall be paid to SAiD as described herein and are nonrefundable. Liability: SAiD’s liability is limited to the actual money paid by Exhibitor to SAiD hereunder. In the event a Show must be postponed due to fire, natural disaster or for any other reason, the monies paid will be applied to a rescheduled date/location. If the Show is cancelled all monies will be refunded or applied toward a future Show and will be at the Producers sole and absolute discretion. Vendors will receive their assigned vendor space when they arrive at the venue. There will be no switching assigned tables. ADVERTISING RULES: any pictures or videos taken on the premises of the event must be hash tagged to #ShopDiasporaWeekend posted that day or any day thereafter. Please be respectful of other vendors space and belongings. SAiD will assigns vendor space only for the promotion and sale of products and services specified that you have previously agreed on. Vendors will be accepted and booth space will be assigned on a first come first served basis and will only be held with payment via credit card or paypal: [email protected] Come support our black small businesses at the SAiD Pan African Library on Friday Feb 26 - 28th, 12pm – 5pm.
