Walks postponed through Spring of 2021 due to rising rates of COVID-19 in NYC Hi everyone. Given the dramatic rise (again) in COVID-19 cases in NYC/NYS and throughout the country over the past 3 months ~ and out of an abundance of caution, our walks will be put back on hiatus. We’ll be watching the data to determine the impact of this second wave of the virus however we fully expect that we will not resume walks until the Spring of 2021. It’s important to understand that a significant number of walkers (like me) in our group are over the age of 50, which puts them at greater risk of severe illness if they contract the virus. And many of those that are over 50 already have an existing underlying health condition that puts them at even greater risk of severe illness or death. Mask up, social distance, wash your hands and follow local ordinances. The North Eastern Governors’ Coalition is meeting this weekend to collaborate, problem solve and share COVID-19 prevention and protection strategies and new guidances are expected to be released.
