Yoga Nidra by Wendy Arena Welcome to Mindful Mondays! Mondays we'll focus more on mindfulness and how to live mindfully. Classes are $10.00 Cash or Venmo - @Wendy-Arena . Please register through Eventbrite. This helps us to be able to keep track of our attendees. Registration is free. Pay at the door or in advanced through Venmo. @Wendy-Arena We will have space for 6 people. Due to Covid-19 we must practice state regulations. Please bring your mask, water, yoga mat, pillow, and a blanket. Class Description: Yoga is the settling of the mind into silence ~Patanjali Yoga is a method of integrating the mind and body through conscious breathing, physical stretching, and meditation. This 60-minute practice begins with centering and breathwork followed by gentle yoga poses intended to release tension in the neck, back, and shoulders. We’ll end the practice with an extended period of progressive relaxation and breath awareness based on the irest™ (Integrative Restoration) form of yoga nidra. The irest program retains the core principles of yoga nidra but makes it accessible to a Western audience. More information about irest can be found at irest.org Yoga nidra (pronounced nih-druh with a short “i” sound as in big) is a form of restorative yoga in which the mind remains alert while the body is at rest. A 30-minute session of yoga nidra is said to equal two hours of deep, restful sleep. Yoga nidra is practiced while lying in Savasana (corpse pose) and helps to integrate the beneficial effects of the yoga practice.
