2 Stratford Schools Temporarily Switching To Remote Learning

STRATFORD, CT — Two Stratford schools will be temporarily switching to remote learning after the district was notified of several cases of the coronavirus on Thursday. The school district notified community members in an email of the following cases: Johnson House Elementary – 3 positive cases as reported on Feb. 3. Close contacts have been notified. ***Johnson House will be on remote learning until Feb. 11 and return to campus on Feb. 16. (There is no school on Feb. 12 and Feb. 15 because of President's Weekend). Flood Middle School – 1 positive case, close contacts have been notified. ***Flood Middle School will be remote learning on Friday, Feb. 5 and Monday, Feb. 8. Flood Middle School – SAILS and STEPS programs will continue to remain on campus, and attend school tomorrow on Feb. 5 and Feb. 8. Bunnell High School – 1 positive case, all close contacts have been notified STRIVE – 2 positive cases, no close contacts. Wooster Middle School – 1 positive case, no close contacts. Franklin Elementary – 1 positive case, no close contacts. Lordship Elementary – 1 positive case, no close contacts identified. "The affected persons have been instructed to remain home in self-isolation for 10 calendar days and have been provided with additional instructions to follow prior to returning to school and work," officials wrote in the email. "Family members have also been instructed to self-quarantine (this is 14 days from exposure) and get tested. "Anyone who is considered a 'close contact' will be contacted by our school nurses and staff. They will provide instructions on the appropriate steps to take regarding quarantine and when to return to school or work."
