Description

NORWALK, CT — The city's Health Department has established a waitlist for Norwalk residents who are eligible to receive the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine, officials announced. The list will be used when a Norwalk Health Department vaccination clinic has extra doses or appointments available due to patient cancellations or no-shows. When that happens, residents will be contacted at random to fill open appointment slots. "This is not an appointment request, and submitting information does not guarantee someone will be contacted to receive a vaccine," said Mayor Harry Rilling in a statement. "A person must be eligible at the time of vaccination to receive a vaccine through this wait list." The waitlist form can be viewed at norwalkct.org/waitlist. In a related move, local residents who wish to receive email or text updates regarding the COVID-19 vaccine from Norwalk officials can sign up online. Residents can enter their email address and/or cell phone number to be alerted of changing news, updates, and eligibility requirements. This is an alert system, not an appointment system, and residents must opt-in to receive notifications. To sign up, visit norwalkct.org/vaccineupdate.
