GROTON, CT — According to the state Department of Public Health, a total of 3,510 Groton residents have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. There are 38,436 Groton residents and 9 percent of them have received their first dose. Groton has 2,278 residents over the age of 75 and 1,714 of them have received their first dose or 63 percent, according to state health officials. Since the pandemic began in March, Groton has reported 2,078 cases and 78 deaths.
