Full Job Description SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION The primary function of this position is to ensure proper installation and finish of ornamental and security gates for residential and commercial customers and new assigned jobs. This will entail many different kinds of construction activity such as: Cut, weld, fit, hammer, dig, and install steel and ornamental iron fence,gates, handrails and security doors for commercial and residential customers. REQUIREMENTS Education: Required: High School graduate or equivalent combination of experience and education. Preferred: Secondary school courses in steel work, welding, or another construction trade. Experience: Prefer two years’ experience in metal works or gates, fence installation for residential or commercial buildings. Welding ability is necessary. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Ability to read and understand blueprint drawings, sketches, and building plans. Ability to take accurate measurements Welding Fluent understanding of proper security gate installation. Understanding of job layout and setup technique. Ability to understand and take direction. Ability to cut and shape material to prescribed measurements using power tools. Knowledge of general electricity. Knowledge of the standard practices and methods in general construction trade. Ability to make accurate arithmetic calculations and measurements. Physical Requirements: Must be able to drive, with a trailer and possess a valid driver’s license in good standing. Walking, bending and ability to climb on and around construction structures and negotiate difficult crevices associated with construction sites. Climb up and down stairs. Must have the endurance to dig for an extended period of time. Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds without assistance. Mental Requirements: Mathematics: Basic math skills including understanding of weights and measures. Language: Ability to communicate in effectively with employees, management, and customers. Must have an eye for proportion and detail. Pre employment drug screen required
