OAK LAWN, IL — It's a marshmallow world in the winter. There's nothing we love more at Patch than big snowman pictures, preferably with a little kid standing next to them. Vinny Carollo, 6, was visiting his dad, Nicholas, in Oak Lawn on Thursday when they built this 7-foot-tall snowman kiddy-corner from Harnew Elementary School near 91st Street and Austin Avenue.
Vinny pitched in with much of the rolling. It was his idea to use candy canes for the arms. When his dad called us Thursday evening, Vinny was enjoying a steaming cup of hot chocolate with tiny marshmallows. Uncle Santo also helped.
