Yoga beyond the postures. In this 8 week series, we'll cover and practice embodying foundational yogic principles such as grounding.
What's so great about yoga? Maybe You've tried it before. Maybe You think You can't do it. This 8 week class is meant to reassure You that You can, and there's much to receive from this self-care practice. We'll introduce principles of yoga, include postures, breathing and meditation techniques, and practice embodying them during our sessions, as well as in-between the time's we gather.
This series is limited to 4 people, Due to the small size of the class, we will focus on tailoring the practices to participants specific goals, bodies, etc. Below is the proposed schedule:
Grounding
Alignment
Connection
Balance (eyes open vs closed - dristi, different balance postures)
Power (intro to bandhas)
Softening
Flow
Being (meditative movement/stillness)
Led by Asha (ze/zir): with more than 1,000 teaching hours, Asha loves guiding beginner series and making yoga accessible for all people. Injuries or preexisting conditions? As a trauma-informed E-RYT, ze is ready to guide You!
