By Rilyn Eischens, the Minnesota Reformer February 4, 2021 Minnesota reported 1,410 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 17 deaths Thursday, according to the Minnesota Department of Health. A total of 465,176 Minnesotans have tested positive for COVID-19 and 6,251 have died. After experiencing one of the nation's worst outbreaks in late fall, Minnesota now has the nation's 47th-fastest rate of case growth, with roughly 17 new cases per 100,000 residents in the past week, according the Brown School of Public Health. The number of Minnesotans who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 is now higher than the number who have tested positive for it. More than 475,000 Minnesotans — roughly 8.6% of the state's population — have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 128,694 have received two doses.
