ELMHURST, IL — Patch submitted questionnaires to the three candidates running for a Ward 1 seat on the Elmhurst City Council in the April 6 election. Incumbent Jennifer Veremis is defending the seat, to which she was appointed over the summer. She replaced Mark Sabatino, who resigned. The candidates are vying for an unexpired two-year term. Ward 1 is in central Elmhurst and includes Elmhurst University, Wilder Park and York High School. Patch asked questions about city issues, Black Lives Matter and the pandemic.
