FREMONT, CA — A driver was carjacked at gunpoint in the Fremont Hub parking lot Thursday night. No injuries were reported. A police officer spotted the carjacked vehicle and chased after it. Officers lost sight of the vehicle and terminated the pursuit at Blacow Road and Stevenson Boulevard. The vehicle later crashed on Stevenson near I-880. The two suspects ran from the vehicle before police arrived. Officers searched the area and found one of them on Strawflower Way and Amethyst Road. A CHP airplane joined the search and spotted the second suspect hiding in a backyard near the crash. The suspect surrendered. Both suspects were arrested on suspicion of armed carjacking and booked at Juvenile Hall.
