Pop-Up Pantry To Feed Hundreds Of Aurora Kids On Saturday

AURORA, IL — Aurora families can stop by Lincoln Park on Saturday morning to pick up boxes full of food and snacks for kids. The Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry is set to host a pop-up pantry from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Lincoln Park, located at Russell Avenue and Lakewood Place, according to a news release. One Of Few Regions In IL To See Population Growth: Study The first 200 families will receive food boxes filled with produce, peanut butter and jelly, cereal, applesauce, pancake mix, canned fruit, Pop Tarts, cheese and crackers, the release states. Saturday's distribution event will be presented by the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry, Calvary Church of Naperville and the Fox Valley Park District. Patch has partnered with Feeding America to help raise awareness on behalf of the millions of Americans facing hunger. Feeding America, which supports 200 food banks across the country, estimated that in 2020, more than 50 million Americans would not have enough nutritious food to eat due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
