WHITE PLAINS, NY — A newly minted congressman representing Rockland and parts of Westchester announced his district team Thursday. Rep. Mondaire Jones, D-17th District, said the team will be led by Port Chester Village Trustee Joan Grangenois-Thomas as district director. Jones said he was proud to have assembled a team that reflects the diversity of the district. "Our district team is rooted in the community, from Spring Valley to Port Chester, and knows the needs of the district because they live here, too," he said. "As this team's fearless leader, Joan Grangenois-Thomas will bring her strong record of community activism, passion for racial and economic justice and love of public service to deliver real change for the great people of Westchester and Rockland," Jones said. Grangenois-Thomas serves as principal of JGT Public Relations, which works with nonprofit and social enterprise organizations to amplify their message and mission. In 2019, she ran for and was elected Port Chester village trustee as an independent candidate. Grangenois-Thomas has served as volunteer executive director of Sustainable Port Chester Alliance and is a member of the Port Chester/Rye Branch of the NAACP, serving as president from 2012 to 2015. Other members of the team include Jesse Malowitz, director of constituent services, Kathlyn Connolly, schedule and executive assistant, Tendrina Alexandre, Rockland district representative, Camila Gomez, Westchester district representative, and Jonathan Nwaru, Westchester district representative. Jones' White Plains district office is at 222 Mamaroneck Ave., Suite 312, in White Plains. Like Hudson Valley Patches' Facebook Pages.
