BIRMINGHAM, AL — A Birmingham man was shot and killed in a room at the Anchor Motel in the 8400 block of 1st Ave. North Thursday night. The 25-year-old victim has not been identified publicly. Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. He said offices found the man unresponsive with gunshot wounds, and was pronounced dead on the scene. Mauldin said no suspects are in custody as the Birmingham PD continues to investigate and find witnesses to the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Birmingham PD at 205-254-1764.
