Are you looking for a way to serve your community? Help us provide an essential service for Eau Claire County citizens and visitors. Join our team as a full-time Telecommunicator (911 Dispatcher)! We are currently hiring in the Eau Claire Emergency Center. The Eau Claire Emergency Center is one of the longest running countywide, central dispatch facilities in Wisconsin. Civilian Telecommunicators are responsible for all 911 calls and non-emergency calls in Eau Claire County. They dispatch for 14 agencies, including law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical services. Applicants will use a computer aided dispatch system, computer records management system, TIME system and other computer software to effectively complete their duties. Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED, etc.) and no felony convictions. Candidates must also be able to work a variety of different shifts (the Emergency Center is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days per week); be detail oriented; have good keyboarding skills; have effective communication skills; possess the ability to maintain composure under high stress situations; and must exhibit patience and discretion when dealing with customers. The ability to multi-task is a must! Wage Range: $23.44 to $27.32 per hour, plus excellent fringe benefits. Application deadline: February 21, 2021.
