POSITION DESCRIPTION Responsibilities include: Performing routine building and grounds custodial work Duties may include: Reviewing daily assignments and performing work in accordance with instructions from supervisors, Performing a variety of cleaning tasks, such as: sweeping, scrubbing floors, vacuuming carpets, waxing, disinfecting restrooms, etc., Monitoring evening building activities schedule and providing access to appropriate areas of the building, Safeguarding school property, Performing minor repairs to buildings and fixtures as assigned, such as: replacing light bulbs and repairing fixtures, Reporting repair work to maintenance staff, Maintaining custodial equipment used in the course of work, Promptly reporting or correcting fire, sanitary and safety hazards Performing routine grounds keeping duties, Other appropriate duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS High school education, Ability to follow oral and written instructions, Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, Ability to interact effectively with individuals and groups of all ages, which may require conflict resolution skills, Ability to obtain specialized training and/or certifications, as required, Ability to physically perform assigned duties, including but not limited to: lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods of time up to eight hours a day, climbing stairs and ladders, and Successful completion of fingerprint screening.
