Join us for an in depth exploration of how your past life experiences are keeping you from fully becoming the person you were meant to be. Workshop Title Cultivating Self-Compassion, Discipline and Resilience in the Inner Child Workshop Description The Michigan Psychodrama Center's 2021 summer intensive will guide participants in the development of the essential adult self-care roles. These including such rolls as healthy soother, postive affirmer, protector and encourager. To assist in the development of these roles, participants will have the opportunity to release trapped emotions such as fear, anger and sadness. Who Will Benefit From this Workshop? Some of the symptoms of our need for deeper inner child work are as follows: You have difficulty self-soothing.You have an active “inner critic."You feel chronically tired.You feel disconnected from yourself.You sometimes feel joyless and/or distracted.You have chronic feelings of shame, sadness, fear, numbness. You lack of grounding or struggle to feel alive and connected.You tend to attempt to fill your emptiness from the outside.You engage in people-pleasing at the expense of yourself.You ignore or do not know your own needs,You are addicted to unhealthy people, places or things, substances or habits.Leaders/Facilitators: The workshop will be led by Dr. Elizabeth Corby and Patrick Barone. Dates and Times: June 24, 2020 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. June 25, 2020 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. June 26, 2020 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. June 27, 2020 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. June 28, 2020 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.(schedule subject to change based on sociometric choices of group). Methods Utilized We will work as a safe community developing connections and utilizing the unique work of Dr. J. L. Moreno’s Psychodrama, Sociometry and experiential group psychotherapy. Other scientifically-supported neurobiological methods for healing and strengthening an authentic attachment to ourselves will also be utilized. Psychodrama Training Hours Available 30 hours of training credit will be obtainable towards certification in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy through attendance at this workshop. Students in training who attend will be able to practice skills as an auxiliary and a director during this workshop and all participants will be able to do personal work as a protagonist. Tuition Cost: $795 Early Registration / 850.00 Regular Registration The workshop tuition includes snacks and beverages every day and lunches on full workshop days. Lodging Lodging is available on a first come, first serve basis. There are also many lodging options in the surrounding area to suit any budget. A lodging list will be provided for attendees. Cancellation/Refund Policy: We understand that life happens, and because life can be unpredictable, we will honor cancellation and refund requests as follows; 60 days prior to event all tuition will be refunded, less any fees paid to Eventbrite (we can’t refund those). 45 days prior to event 50% refund. For cancellations less than 30 days’ notice, no refund. Please note that an additional 10% of the proceeds from this workshop will be donated by the Michigan Psychodrama Center and the Winning Back Lives Foundation.
