Summary Description:An Apprentice will begin by detailing finished vehicles, assisting with general bodywork, removing and reinstalling parts, shop cleaning and organization, and soaking up as much knowledge as you can from the skilled professionals around you.Shift: Mon - Fri 8AM - 5PMJob Roles and Responsibilities:- Assist Body Shop Technician to disassemble and assess any supplemental vehicle needs, labor, parts and communicate with estimator- Assist Body Shop Technician to perform all body and fender repairs utilizing welding, body alignment and structural operation- Assist Body Shop Technician to perform quality repairs at all time and notify management of any substandard processes, parts or procedures- Buff vehicles as needed, Detail vehicles on completion of work- Proactively take part in learning and maintain current product and technical knowledge- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times and adhere to OSHA/EPA requirements- Perform all job duties as requested by management
Experience and Qualifications:Strong work ethicMust be 18 years of age or olderHigh school diploma or the equivalent recommendedAutomotive knowledge/background/schooling (one year minimum)Must have a valid & clean NYS drivers' license/recordWork Environment/Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to work near moving vehicles and mechanical parts. May be exposed to noise, fumes, extreme heat or cold. Employee may be sitting between eight and twelve hours during shift. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to use both hands to handle, feel, reach above and below shoulder level, must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, stand, walk, drive a vehicle, lift or move 30+ pounds, use of eyesight and ability to talk and hear.
