A enjoyable and educational hike at a Massachusetts State Park with an experienced guide. Location: Borderland State Park Borderland State Park is a history and nature preserve with public recreational features located in the towns of Easton and Sharon, Massachusetts. The state park encompasses 1,843 acres surrounding the Ames Mansion, which was built in 1910. Participants will be immersed in the wilderness of historic State Parks of Massachusetts. This class is designed for all nature-enthusiasts looking to further their education of the great outdoors. We will cover:The basics of navigating through the wildernessHiking safety in a controlled environmentEssential needs of hiking alone or with a group. New found appreciation for the wilderness and a brief history of the venue Expected Take-away’s:Immerse yourself in nature and increase in elevation for views of the surrounding area.Gain confidence navigating and hiking in the wilderness.A knowledge of the basics of being in the outdoors including:GearWhat to wearSafety Prerequisites:This is a Level 1 course for anybody that is new to the outdoors and hiking. It is open to all levels. What to expect of your guide:We will provide a Group First Aid Kit available to cover any basic needs that come up.We will be managing various risks, including navigating and hiking through uneven terrain.
