We are currently recruiting for positions to support the Niblack Mine on the Prince of Wales Island. Please visit to view more information about the mine Job Summary The Housekeeper helper is responsible for day-to-day cleaning of three-story live aboard barge. Barge includes offices, common rooms, dining room, kitchen, bathrooms, laundry and living quarters. Individual must be team oriented with a no job too big or too small attitude. The position is working 12-hour shifts, Monday-Sunday, 84 hours weekly and scheduled approximately 3-8 weeks on and typically 3 weeks off. Transportation to and from site is provided from Ketchikan, Alaska. The employee is responsible for arranging their own travel to Ketchikan, AK. Room and board provided on a barge at the work site during the time-on period. This is position requires successfully passing both a background and drug screening to qualify and will be subject to any post-accident and/or reasonable suspicion testing throughout employment. Some of What You Will Do *Clean common rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, corridors, elevators, stairways, and other work areas daily or as need ensuring health standards are met *Thoroughly clean living quarters including washing linens, sanitizing all hard surfaces and shampooing carpets as necessary and as directed *Thoroughly clean/sanitize multi-stall showers and toilets on a daily basis to ensure the highest sanitary conditions *Assists as required in food preparation, serving food and maintaining highest health standards Picks up and empties trash throughout the barge. *Ensures the kitchen, pantry, pots and pans are cleaned after every meal Washes pots, pans, dishes and utensils What You'll Bring *2 + years prior experience in related housekeeping and/or food service positions preferred *Prior camp environment experience, preferred *Valid Safe Food Handlers Card or able to obtain one *High School Diploma or equivalent *Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) or willing to obtain one. This is position requires successfully passing both a COVID test, background check, and drug screening to qualify and will be subject to any post-accident and/or reasonable suspicion testing throughout employment. Must be US Citizen.
