I’m looking to hire an amateur photographer to take photos of Mardi Gras house floats. I am assembling a list of candidates using the Krewe of House Floats website: Of course, there are already many house floats in New Orleans and more are being created all the time. So, it’s important to be selective in mapping out the best “targets” and having a route or game plan carefully worked out in advance. Assignments would be designed to shoot the best houses within a particular neighborhood and to minimize travel between neighborhoods. So, for example, one assignment might involve shooting 10 pre-selected houses in the Riverbend or Mid-City neighborhood. I’m mainly interested in daytime shots, although some of the houses are illuminated and deserve to be shot at night. I’m looking to have a non-exclusive license to use the images online, in perpetuity. The photographer would be credited. It would be great to if the photographer already had an interest in Mardi Gras house floats and was motivated to seek out doozies.
