6 week sessions on Tuesday nights beginning March 9- April 13th from 6:30-8:30pm. Instructor Heather Friday. Beginners-Advanced Class participants will explore various techniques using their choice of oil or acrylic paint. The class is for the beginner and the experienced artists with emphasis on improving painting skills, brush control, color mixing, composition, and the use of various surfaces. Cost efficiency will also be discussed. Individual creativity and expression will be encouraged. The class is structured as an open studio whereas each artist will bring their own work and supplies. Instruction will be on an individual basis to meet each artist at their skill level with the intent of improving technique and understanding of various aspects of color theory, composition, painting techniques, drawing, etc. Any lecturing will be to share information that all students might be interested in hearing with the opportunity to ask questions. Critiques (which will explore what is and isn’t working within a painting whereas artists can develop ideas to help strengthen their painting) will be encouraged so artists can learn from each other. Each student is asked to bring their own materials, as well as choose their own subject matter with Heather instructing, individually. Cost for the six week series is $50.00 for Friends & $55.00 for non-members. Ages high school through adult. Prepayment will be required.
