A day in the life of our restroom techs typically begins at 5AM at our warehouse where they pick up boxes of paper goods like paper towels and toilet paper, refill their cleaning supplies, pick up clean towels with which to do the job and get on their way. This is a route-based position. So a typical day can include the simple delivery of paper goods and soap to one of our customers but most customers we serve take our weekly restroom service in which our restroom techs go into the restroom, scrub the inside and outside of toilets, scrub sinks, wipe down countertops with a product that sanitizes surfaces, refill soap dispensers and refill any air fresheners installed. We also provide periodic scrubs in restrooms and kitchens in which our employees use a low-power pressure washer to get grout and tile clean on the floor and the lower portion of walls. How many stops our techs have depend on how long each job takes. Some customers are small, some are very large and require more time. This is a position in which you will be spending most of your time in the restroom which we realize is a somewhat unattractive proposition to some people. However, it is an important job and our employees who have been with us for years cite the following as reasons they like working here: Independence: if they’re doing a good job (and our current employees are) they never hear from us, they have absolute freedom to do their job without us looking over their shoulder Customers: our employees actually like our customers and enjoy the relationships they’ve developed with them and our customers like them right back (our employees get a lot of free lunches.) Hours: Our employees are usually done with their work day between 1PM to 3PM, depending on their route on any given day. Sometimes days can go longer, especially in the beginning when folks are learning the rhythm to a route but typically our employees are done no later than 3PM. Days Off: Our people love having their evenings and weekends free in addition to Thanksgiving Day and Christmas as two paid holidays off.
