Description

We are joining Girl Scouts across the US in making felt roses as part of a COVID Memorial collaborative art piece, the Rose River Memorial. Help support the Rose River Memorial project by creating felt roses. Each rose represents a person in Missouri that has died from COVID. Over 6000 roses will be created and displayed together as powerful public memorial. Each participant will hand sew 10 roses that will be delivered to Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri to be included in a memorial viewing in St. Louis in March. There are plans to combine all the state pieces as one large memorial display in Washington DC later in 2021. Participants will be required to wear masks in conjunction with KCMO ordinances, and hand sanitizer will be offered throughout the workshop. Social distancing guidelines will be followed during the workshop, and all surfaces will be disinfected between sessions to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible. For troops who are unable to attend an in person session, please reach out to [email protected] for at home participation options.
