I understand that many churches are small and can’t afford to pay anybody to do anything, much less play guitar for 10 hours a week, and as your ad states, do “other duties as assigned by the Worship Leader”. But I went to your church’s website. It doesn’t look small at all. In fact, it looks downright huge! And you’re telling me…you can’t afford even a token $100 a week? Even for a dyed-in-the-wool Baptist? Really? Do you really think a person who has spent years and years honing his craft should ever be expected to perform his craft for FREE? Just because he would be playing for a (tax-exempt, mind you) church? Do you think Jesus would agree with your selfish stance? Do you think Jesus would be ashamed that you ask an artist to give his art to you for nothing, while you have a huge church which must cost thousands every month just for utilities etc? Not to mention….I bet whoever runs that church has a really nice house. For shame.
