BURR RIDGE, IL — In recent days, Burr Ridge police handled cases involving domestic battery, a woman dancing in the street, complaints about ice fishing, parking problems, fraudulent calls, loud music and elevator damage. Here is information from Burr Ridge police reports: Domestic battery Edward L. Massey, 49, was arrested Sunday in Plainfield on a charge of domestic battery. The Will County Sheriff's Office served Burr Ridge's warrant for Massey. Massey posted $100 bail. Dancing in the street A woman was dancing in the street about 11 a.m. Friday near Meadowbrook Drive and South Frontage Road. An officer spoke with the woman, who appeared to be intoxicated. She went to a place on South Frontage Road. Annoyed with ice fishing A resident on Savoy Club Court complained at 4:30 p.m. Saturday about two people ice fishing on a nearby pond. An officer checked on the people, who were Savoy Club residents, meaning they could continue fishing. Police received another complaint from Savoy Club about ice fishing about 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Police confirmed the people were Savoy Club residents. Parking complaints Police received a call Friday about numerous cars parked on 89th Street overnight. Several cars were parked on the south side of the street. An officer spoke to someone entering a car and informed him that he cannot park on the street between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. The officer had the person tell the homeowner. A person called police about noon Friday that a car parked in the roadway was causing a hazard. A Honda Pilot was parked with its rear in the middle of 89th Street. An officer spoke with a woman exiting a house and had her notify the car's owner to move it before the officer wrote a ticket. Someone came and moved the car.A resident near Plainfield Road and Garywood Drive complained shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday that cars and people were everywhere on Garywood. An officer dropped by and saw that all the cars were parked legally on the west side of Garywood. The people were sledding. Fraudulent calls A resident on Park Avenue informed police Friday that she had been getting phone calls from someone claiming to be a Social Security officer. She said she had not given any personal information. An officer told the woman it was a scam. Following night of drinking A resident on Jackson Street called police Friday to say that she was trying to find her cellphone after a night of drinking. She seemed to be under the influence, but was coherent throughout the conversation. Stuck in snow A woman pulled over her car Saturday to grab her cellphone, getting her 2011 BMW stuck in the snow near South County Line and German Church roads as a result. An officer stood by while the tow truck she called pulled her out. Loud music A resident complained about loud music shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday in the 11500 block of 73rd Place. An officer spoke with the offending homeowner, who turned down the music. Elevator damage A security guard at Hampton Social, 705 Village Center Drive, told police about 7 p.m. Sunday that three youths removed a fire extinguisher from the third-floor elevator and sprayed it inside the elevator, causing the fire alarm to activate. The property management firm, Edwards Realty, wanted the incident documented and would have maintenance staff clean the elevator in the morning. The incident was not captured on security cameras.
