AURORA, IL — Voters in Aurora who wish to cast their ballots through the mail for the Feb. 23 primary or April 6 election must apply for a mail-in ballot from the Kane County Clerk's Office. Amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the clerk's office sent applications for mail-in ballots to more than 200,000 registered voters ahead of the November 2020 election. Coronavirus Restrictions Loosen Again As Aurora Moves To Phase 4 However, the state law that required those applications to be sent to registered voters did not include enough funding to continue that practice in 2021, according to a news release from Kane County Clerk John Cunningham. Voters will not receive a mail-in ballot if they do not complete an application, meaning they would be required to vote in person. Voters can also call the clerk's office at 630-232-5990 or visit the office in Geneva.
