Description

SOLON, OH — There have been nearly 1,400 COVID-19 cases associated with a Solon ZIP code, according to the Ohio Department of Health. The 44139 ZIP code in Shaker Heights has had 1,390 COVID-19 cases among residents since the pandemic began. That's up slightly from mid-January, when the ZIP code had 1,259 cases. Over the past week, there has been a drop in new COVID-19 cases in Ohio. The state has confirmed fewer than 4,000 new cases for four straight days and hospitalizations related to the virus have dipped below 3,000. In response to the decline, Gov. Mike DeWine has shortened the statewide curfew to 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. and has laid out guidelines for removing the curfew altogether. More than 7.5 percent of Ohioans have received at least the first part of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the state health department. As of Wednesday afternoon, 908,096 Ohioans had received at least the first shot and 217,058 Ohioans have completed the vaccination process. While we wait for the #COVID19 vaccine to become more widely available, it's important to continue following the #StaySafeOhio Protocol as much as possible. These steps can prevent virus spread and save lives. #InThisTogetherOhio https://t.co/3lWx4J9t3J pic.twitter.com/4iLlKyWp4Y— Governor Mike DeWine (@GovMikeDeWine) February 3, 2021
