CORNELIUS, NC — Officers of Cornelius Police Department issued more than 60 tickets this past week, of which 30 citations were for speeding, according to the most recent police blotter. Police made two arrests last week and also received reports of larceny at Walgreens and Fresh Market, and a report of fraud at Home Depot. Arrests made by Cornelius Police Department between Jan. 27 - Feb. 2, 2021: Jose Luis Garcia-Mendoze, 23, arrested on Old Statesville Road, charged with driving while impaired, no operators license, open container after consuming alcohol and speeding.
