UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Four men are being sought in connection with a home invasion burglary on the Upper East Side in which a resident and doorman were tied up while their assailants looted an apartment, police said. Around 10:20 p.m. Sunday, the four men followed a 68-year-old man into the lobby of his building on Madison Avenue and East 81st Street, police said. The men showed firearms and then forced the victim and a 67-year-old doorman into the elevator, then into the victim's apartment, police said. Inside the apartment, the men tied up the resident and the doorman and stole about $10,000 worth of cash and jewelry. They fled the building in a dark minivan, according to police. The resident and doorman were unhurt. Descriptions of the masked assailants were sparse: police described them only as males between 20 and 30 years old. Police asked anyone with information to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). People can also submit tips online or on Twitter, @NYPDTips.
