BIRMINGHAM, AL — A man who has been implicated in two separate murders in 2018 was indicted last week for the murder of James Lett on May 13, 2018. An Alabama Media Group report said Cameron Jamar Cook, 30, was indicted by a grand jury Jan. 25.
Lett, who was 28 at the time of his death, was last seen early in the morning on May 13, 2018 leaving Marty's, a 5 Points South bar, and getting into the passenger seat of a white car.
Police found his body in an alley the following day after Lett's family alerted them that he was out of contact. Police said Lett had been shot multiple times.
Cook is also awaiting trial for the August 12, 2018, murder of Denise Fassel. He has been held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond since 2018.
