Flea Problem HELP!!!!!

My mom and I own a home together. I have a pitbull and 3 ferrets. I’ve never had a problem with fleas ever in the 30 years I’ve owned a dog or anything that can get fleas. I am having a terrible issue finding fleas on my ferrets but none on my dog. My mom has 15 cats in her part of the home. 90% of her cats are feral and cannot be handled or even treated for fleas by my mother. She uses over the counter flea meds from Walmart. She does not have the money to have any of her cats checked by a vet but she keeps trapping ferals and brings them into the house instead of quarantine them for a period before letting the cat loose. I’m guessing she’s having an infestation but is old and cannot see well. I am guessing that’s the source of the fleas and why her cats are so sickly. I do not know where else they could be coming from. I’ve had my guys to the vet and prescribed revolution for my three ferrets and my dog. I treat my guys every month however my mother does not treat all her cats. She only treats them during the summer and blames my dog for bringing the fleas into the home. Please can someone help me I am desperate!!!! The fleas will not go away even with revolution and cleaning their bedding in hot water and dryer vacuuming moping flea combing my ferrets. I’d even consider letting my 3 ferrets go to a great home away from this insane situation. I’ve done everything in my power to get rid of these fleas. My mother just doesn’t get it and is beyond frustrating. I’m about to just leave and go to a homeless shelter. I cannot afford to move at this time. Maybe it’s time I find my ferrets a home. It’s not fair for them to be suffering like this. No matter what I do I keep finding fleas on them. Please HELP!!!!!!
