Swine Technician A Swine Technician will help to provide daily care, feeding, and barn cleaning and maintenance for hogs of all sizes. We are a farrow to finish operation with approximately 1,200 sows and 15,000 finishing hogs. We are happy to provide on-the-job training. Schlichting Farms is seeking a part time or full time dedicated and hard working individual who is interested in the pork industry. Job Functions: *Facility cleaning and maintenance *Moving sows from one crate to another *Artificial insemination *Helping sows give birth *Preform piglet processing and vaccinations *Record-keeping *Loading hogs onto semi Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: *Motivated and positive attitude *Regular and consistent attendance *Efficient communication and time management skills *Ability to lift 50lbs *Ability to stand, walk and be on feet up to 10 hours a day *Ability to frequently bend, reach, squat and kneel *Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license Hours: Part Time- Flexible Full Time- *Monday through Thursday 6:00am – 4:00pm *Rotating Fridays 6:00am-9:00am *Every 5th weekend – Part time hours on weekends Pay and Benefits: Salary will be determined according to the applicant’s skill and background of the industry.
