Crate Manufacturing company in the North Austin area is seeking Quality Assurance Inspectors. 1st shift - 7am to 3:30pm - $15-$17 hr. Please call our office to schedule an interview or apply online at www.employnet.com - 512-592-9813 The Quality Assurance Inspector may visually inspect or manually test products or processes before, during or after the manufacturing process. They also record, monitor, and analyze data to pass on to the Operations, Sr. Management, and Quality Teams. Essential Functions: Must wear steel toe boots and other required personal protection equipment. The Quality Assurance Inspector must obtain, measuring tape, hammer to perform tasks. • Inspection of crates – 50% A. Accepts or rejects completed work products by verifying the product or process meets the customer specifications and requirements through measurements and visual inspection. B. Inspect product or process with specialized tools. This may include weighing or measuring finished products, assessing moisture content of wood, visually inspection workmanship and/or gauging product reliability. C. Uses proprietary software to track and update quality data and assists in delivery of reports to Operations, Sr. Management or Quality departments. • Improvement Recommendations – 40% • Reviews specifications, standards and/or test plans of customer designs, and reports feedback to the Design department. • Reviews, implements and follows up on corrective actions derived from customer complaints, customer returns, and/or non-conformances found and their root causes. • Participates in ISO audits to ensure local and company-wide compliance to specified standards. • Communication to Production – 10% • Multitasking by monitoring the correct processes in different areas. • Gives feedback to Production department regarding any errors or non-conformances in the assembly process verbally or through written documentation. Education/Knowledge/Skill Requirements: Required: 6 mo. To 1 year of wood products manufacturing experience Ability to work weekends Ability to work overtime when required (Especially during Quarter Ends) 1 year of quality inspection experience High school diploma of GED equivalent Ability to communicate verbally and in writing English. Bilingual is not required but desired, Spanish preferred Ability to read tape measure in ¼ and 1/8, etc. gradients Experience in blueprint and design reading Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume manufacturing environment Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn proprietary software Ability to work well, independently and in a team environment Other duties has required
