Entry level position in the apartment home industry. Willing to train the right person and develop their skills for future promotion potential. Cut and paste into browser: A 270 unit luxury apartment community in the Northland seeking a full-time porter/groundskeeper. Hours are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm with occasional night and weekend work. Currently established responsibilities include: Reporting to work on time and appropriately dressed (uniforms provided) at the beginning of each work day. Clean, sweep and generally remove all trash and litter from the grounds, parking lots, swimming pool decks, amenity areas, common areas, apartment entrances and all other assigned work areas. Operate snow blowers, landscaping equipment and trash compactor as needed. Perform general maintenance on apartment homes in preparation for new residents. Report acts of vandalism, items needing repair, destruction of property and suspicious persons. Be courteous to residents. Qualified candidate will have a current, operational telephone number, drivers license and be able to pass a background and drug test. This position includes light maintenance tasks including changing lights, assisting in the make-ready process of apartments between residents moving out and moving in and preventative maintenance. Ideally a candidate would possess experience with general maintenance and repair (AC, heating, plumbing, electrical systems and carpentry). Most importantly, the person we are looking for must have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and be willing to learn. Our team members come to work everyday to work hard and do our best job. We are willing to train the right person. Hourly pay plus monthly commissions and possible annual bonus. Overtime possible through on-call rotation.
