Skilled mechanical work in maintenance, repair, and operation of farm equipment for a family owned operation in Butte County. Job Duties: - Equipment includes John Deere tractors and harvesters, disc, chisels, scrapers, landplanes, choppers, headers, bankouts etc. for rice farming operation and sprayers, pruning towers, mowers etc. for orchard equipment - Fabricate new metal parts, using drill presses, iron work, lathes, welder and other machine tools - Examine & observe equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions. - Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, test operation and make adjustments as necessary. - Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, bearings and other areas to ensure they are in proper operating condition - Move between mechanic and welding tasks depending on workload & season - Ability to operate tractors and commercial vehicles on an occasional basis Job Requirements: - Valid Drivers license in good standing - Class A Driver’s license a plus - Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus - 3 years of mechanic experience - Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs - Ability to work in all outside weather temperatures and conditions Located in Biggs, CA but work throughout Butte County Pay Depending on experience. Position is full time, 40+ hours. Seasonally can be 70+ hrs/week. Submit resumes via e-mail.
